SEEKING A PERFECTIONIST WITH AN EYE FOR DETAIL AND DESIGN...EEI Communications, the Metro area’s Publishing Think Tank, has an excellent temp-hire opportunity for an accomplished Desktop Publisher in Washington, DC. Our client is a nonprofit organization in an excellent location with outstanding benefits!
Interested candidates must be well organized and mature professionals with confident communication skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks under daily deadline pressure.
The desktop publisher will be responsible for designing and managing all phases of electronic and print production for the communications department, from concept through completion.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced knowledge of methods and software used in page design, font management, layout composition, and image management (including scanning and optimizing images for print) in a PDF workflow environment
- Extensive print buying experience (minimum 3 years), including price negotiation and scheduling with vendors, prepress and proof evaluation, color management, and quality control checks throughout the printing process
- Bachelors degree in the field of print design
- Minimum 2-3 years professional experience in page design (magazine layout preferred)
- Minimum 2-3 years work on a Macintosh platform
- Fluency in the following Adobe software: GoLive! (Dreamweaver), InDesign, PhotoShop CS, Illustrator
- Fluency in HTML source code
