Accessibility to both techies and traditional editors noted
On February 7, the Washington, D.C., chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC) presents E-What? A Guide to the Quirks of New Media Style and Usage (EEI Press) with an award of excellence. E-What? competed in the books category for online communications.
STC received 126 entries for this year's Technical Publications, Technical Art, and Online Communication Competition. STC is a membership organization for those whose work makes technical information available to people who need it.
"E-What? is not just for technical writers and webmasters, but also for editors of nontechnical publications who struggle with Internet, new media, and computer terms," says Robin Cormier, vice president of EEI Communications. "It's a pleasure to hear from the judges, who are communications experts, that the book is 'exceptionally useful as a handy reference' and 'complete and simple to use.'We crafted a consensus approach to technical terms for abroad audience."
