How the Temp-to-Hire Staffing Process Works

Ready to request a temp-to-hire employee? Here's how it works:

  1. Contact an EEI resource manager by phone, fax, or e-mail, or use our online form to place your request. If you do not call in your request, a resource manager will contact you within 24 hours to obtain any additional details about the position.
  2. Once your request is processed, your resource manager will give you a per-hour quote range that you can expect to pay for the position. You will also be given a flat-fee range for the direct hire of the employee. Both quotes are ranges (not exact amounts) since the rate may vary somewhat depending on the experience of different candidates.
  3. If you accept the range quote, you will sign an agreement containing (a) a description of the position to be filled, (b) the per-hour and flat-fee quote ranges, and (c) the start date of the assignment. By signing the agreement, you are NOT obligated to hire an EEI candidate, and you are NOT restricted from advertising the position elsewhere.
  4. Once the agreement is on file, your resource manager works on filling the order. You will receive regular updates on the status of your order.
  5. When your resource manager finds suitable candidates, you will receive resumes to review via fax or e-mail. All of the resumes you receive will be from applicants that have gone through our rigorous screening and skills testing process.
  6. Once you have review the resumes and found one or more acceptable applicants, we will schedule an in-person interview between you and the applicant(s). If necessary, a second follow-up interview can be scheduled.
  7. Following the interview, you may choose whether to extend an offer to the applicant. The offer includes the proposed per-hour rate and salary (within the quote ranges previously agreed upon).
  8. If you are not satisfied with the candidates interviewed, you are under no obligation to hire.

  9. If the selected candidate accepts your offer, he or she will begin work for you as a temporary employee of EEI under the terms of your temp-to-hire agreement. During the temporary period, EEI bills you at the set hourly rate and you do not pay the employee directly. EEI takes care of processing the employee's timesheets and preparing your invoices. According to the terms of your temp-to-hire agreement, the employee will later become your direct employee. After paying the one-time, flat fee to EEI, you are under no further obligation to pay fees to EEI.
