Our work demands effective presentation of information. The challenge is to organize, transform, and present our information so that other people can find it, use it, and understand it. In this class you will learn the vocabulary and techniques of information design. Topics include:
- How users process information
- Three fundamentals for designing information
- Techniques for creating effective information graphics
- Techniques for presenting Web information clearly
- Information design principles in designing in-class communication products
NOTE: Bring one or two samples of your work to class for constructive evaluation.
Prerequisite: Some exposure to the Web, graphic design, or technical writing is helpful.
